How does Ultracet works
Among the two drugs that form Ultracet, both Tramadol and acetaminophen are pain relievers but Tramadol acts in two different ways. On one hand it binds the opioid receptor on the nervous system and on the other it also re consumes serotonin and norepinephrine by the nerves. This reduces the pain signals from the spinal cord to the brain. Acetaminophen acts by relieving pain in the spinal cord and the brain by increasing the threshold to the pain.

Ultracet Precautions
1. Ultracet pain medication should be strongly avoided in case the patient had experienced allergic reactions to codeine in the past.
2. If any patient experiences tightness of chest, swelling of the face, eyelids and lips or develop rashes, it is necessary for him to contact his medical examiner for any further use of the drug.
3. It is possible that regular over dosage of Ultracet could lead to dependence upon it, therefore proper dose as per the medical prescription is highly recommended.
4. If the patient is undergoing any surgery or emergency care, he should inform the physician about the use of the drug.
5. Ultracet is excreted in the breast milk, so pregnant women need to take this drug only if prescribed by the physician.

Always remember that it is very important that your medical practitioner should know about your illness history or what you are taking because some prescription medications do not interact well with other drugs. In fact, some drug interactions can be very dangerous in this case.
